About Health Explorer
Welcome to Health Explorer! This is an interactive data visualization and analysis tool created by the Southeast Regional Climate Center. It is designed to help researchers, public health officials, and community stakeholders explore county-level patterns in monthly mortality across major disease categories from 1990 to 2021. The tool also allows users to make connections between extreme weather and climate events and public health outcomes, providing accessible, data-driven insights to support public health planning and emergency response.

What You’ll See
The map will display county-level mortality counts based on your selections (note: counts under 5 are not displayed to protect privacy and ensure reliability)
The charts on the right will show socioeconomic attributes from the selected records, aggregated across your chosen counties, time periods, and ICD codes. These charts provide valuable insights into the geographic and social patterns that shape health risks.
